I found out how to change the options (extensive) in Word 2007. One of the options was to save files in the Word 97 - 2004 .doc format instead of the new .docx format. Nice - now I can share files with the other two computers in the house that use Word 2000. Also found out how to add icons to Word's quick launch tool bar.
Figured out how to share files across our home network. It is NOT easy to find this information. Microsoft's instructions are complete garbage. I just used the 'keep trying until it works' method. Eventually found that giving the Guest account Co-owner privileges worked.
Got SplashID to work so now I can backup my password file to the Garmin iQue 3600 palm device.
