I spent the weekend trying to receive email under Vista. No matter which email program I used, it would time out trying to receive mail from the POP server. A quick call to my Internet provider this morning reveals it it a 'feature' in Vista and can be fixed temporarily by a fairly arcane procedue.
I also upgraded to Office 2007. More on that later.
Quick impressions - the Vista visuals are nice. Very noticable when I dual boot back to XP.
A lot of the utilities under Vista have been 'dumbed' down. Little or no way to set various parameters.
I slowing converting all of my applications over. Ok so far.
