Vista - part 3

I have made Vista my OS for Internet and email. Working on making Office 2007 my default for Word and Access files. Office 2007 works fine, I just have to test the compatability with Office 2000 on the other computers when using shared files.

Observations:
Vista and Office 2007 have improved visibility. Not sure if that is the correct word but the screens and the printouts are easier to read. Everything seems a little larger and 'softer'.

Vista seems somewhat faster and cleaner looking. Opening large programs is fast after the program is loaded for the first time.

Outlook 2007. When I used Outlook 2000, I installed Newsgator for my RSS feeds. A common RSS feed in built into Internet Explorer 7 and Outlook 2007. I have only found a few RSS feeds that don't work. I also used SpamBayes to control spam in Outlook 2000. 2007's built in junk filter seems to work well so one less program to download/install. Outlook 2007 is very similar to Outlook 2003 with the additions of 'ribbons' .

Word 2007: The biggest change is the use of 'ribbons' instead of drop down menus. Takes some getting used to but I like the concept. You can see all of your options for following topics:
Home (your standard tool bars); Insert; Page Layout; References; Mailings; Reveiw and View just by clicking on the topic. Took me awhile to find Help (press the F1 key) and the File options (click on the round logo icon in the upper left)

Access: Haven't used it too much but the changed display makes everything larger so you cannot see as much data on a given screen.
