I wanted a small digital camera with a 10x to 12x zoom lens. I ended up purchasing a Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ1 and I love it.
It only stores pictures in the JPG format and does not use the RAW format but not being a fanatical camera nut I am not worried about this. It also does not have a viewfinder (uses the display on the back) and that has taken a little getting used to.
So aside from those nits I really really like this camera. Highly recommended.
